Create our own basemap gallery with selected basemaps in ArcGIS

ArcGIS provides us small list of basemaps in default gallery. But in one project I needed my own list of basemaps in gallery. So I did too much search to find the way to get an idea how I can add required basemap to the gallery.

Here I’m explaining the way how I achieved this.

First mail thing, you should have ArcGIS account. If you don’t have then create one. After that you need to create group inside logged In account.

After login you will see Group menu at the top of the screen. You need to click on that menu.

It will show you the list of groups along with the button to create new group.

Clicking on Create Group button will show you the a form with the fields which needs to create a group.

After fill all the fields, just submit the form to create group. After that you will see something like this screen:-

For the Group ID, see the URL. That ID will be used where you want to show this group basemaps.

Next step is to add basemap to this group. For this, Open the My Content tab.

On Content Tab, there is a button to Add item to Group. When we click on this button then this will open Popup to add items to the group. Like

After add you can see added items inside your group.

After that you need use group ID in to your code. Below is the sample of code

After that you can see all the basemaps list on your map like:-
