Elasticsearch Quick Start

Elasticsearch is an open-source tool for a store and search engine for all types of data ( textual, numerical, geospatial, structured, and unstructured data) in real-time.

Elasticsearch based on Apache Lucene and the first release was in 2010 by Elasticsearch N.V. (now known as Elastic).

The speed and scalability of Elasticsearch and its ability to index many types of content, mean that we can apply Elasticsearch in many scenarios:

It’s an index data structure storing a mapping from content such as words or numbers to its locations in a document or a set of documents.

In simple words, it is a hash-map like data structure that directs you from a word to a document or a web page.

Elasticsearch supports a variety of languages, and official clients like : ( Java, JavaScript (Node.js), Go, .NET (C#), PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby).

Logstash, one of the core products of the Elastic Stack, it’s used to aggregate and process data and send it to Elasticsearch.

Logstash is an open-source, server-side data processing pipeline that enables you to ingest data from multiple sources simultaneously and transform it before it is indexed into Elasticsearch.

Kibana is a data visualization and management tool for Elasticsearch that provides real-time histograms, line graphs, pie charts, and maps.

It does not only allow users to use Elastic Maps for visualizing geospatial data. But also users can create custom dynamic infographics based on their data by advanced applications called Canvas.

below steps for mac and also for Linux if you want to choose zip file download (the way I prefer).

you can import any CSV file by Logstash to your elastic search and visualize it by Kibana.
