The Wilted Willow

We are all that the wilted willow has to show

The young fledgling sings his song well into the ocean that is the night sky

We are all that the wilted willow has to shade

The evening’s warm gale flusters her branches as she cries into the wind

We are all that the wilted willow has to yearn

Buds swell and sway as the night carries on whispering comforting glimpses of the suns warm gaze of the morrow

We are all that the wilted willow has to comfort

The shrill of her branches die whilst her bough creaks; swaying never faltering to the winds lashings

We are but the wilted willow’s roots

Sinewy and firm yet caressing to the earth; a home to the life that surrounds her

We are nothing more than the willow’s seed

Hardened yet full of burgeoning life

I am the willow at your window side, and the willow of your soul, forever swaying yet steadfast and true
