Adding a slider to drupal website

Today I’m writing a step-to-step guide for adding a simple slider to a drupal website.

slideshow module

Now I enable the module from the extend section of my website.

enable views slideshow and cycle

This module requires some dependencies to be download as listed below. (Also available in the README.md of the module)

Now I open /structure/views and create a new view by clicking “Add View”. I name my view element and select the “Create a block option”. Leave everything as it is and click “Save and edit”.

Now I configure my view. Click add field and select “Image” under the content category.

The last step is to add some content (in case there nothing added). Also I set the format as “Slideshow” under the format option in my view.

Now I customize the settings of the slideshow, click settings, next to the format option. I add Controls, Slide counter and pager.

Finally, I go to /structure/block and I place the newly created slider block under the content. Also, set the Pages under Visibility to <front>

That’s it! Our Slider is complete! Here is a demo of it.
